Published 26 October 2026 · Chikara Intelligence · 4 min readInterim & unplanned exits

Chikara Intelligence recorded 468 executive moves in the week to 25 October, across 209 organisations. Eight were interim or acting appointments, and five of those were at a company that also recorded an exit that week. The sharpest case was Jeld-Wen, whose finance chief is leaving for the same seat at Standex International, with an interim lined up for the day the exit takes effect.

The week in numbers

Chikara Intelligence recorded 468 executive moves in the seven days to 25 October, across 209 organisations. 409 of them, or 87.4 per cent, were at C-suite, board or partner level. Arrivals outnumbered exits 337 to 131, counting appointments, hires and promotions on one side and departures and retirements on the other.

153 of the 468 were on the record on or before the day they took effect. 85 were recorded before the move happened and 68 on the day itself. 151 arrived after the fact, and the rest carry no effective date at all.

Board slates were taken out before anything was counted. 42 rows at eight companies listed directors for election at an annual meeting rather than seats changing hands, and one more row said no move had happened. 33 of the 468 took effect more than 30 days before this entry, so they count toward the total but are left out of the hot spots below.

Jeld-Wen lost its finance chief to Standex and named an interim the same day

On 19 October Chikara Intelligence recorded both ends of one move. Jeld-Wen's chief financial officer resigns with effect from 13 November to take a role outside building products. The same day, Standex International recorded a new vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer joining on 1 December, and the two records name the same person. Standex's current CFO stays on as an executive vice president and group president.

Jeld-Wen had cover in place before the seat opened. Its chief accounting officer becomes interim CFO on 13 November, the day the exit takes effect, and both changes were on the record more than three weeks ahead.

Eight interim or acting appointments were recorded in the window, and five were at companies that also recorded an exit that week. Most of that cover was in finance. Amass Brands' CFO leaves on 16 November and an interim CFO starts the next day while the board searches. Torrid Holdings has an interim CFO starting on 28 October, two weeks before its CFO leaves on 12 November. At American Clean Resources Group the CFO was let go with immediate effect on 13 October, an interim principal accounting officer started the same day and a principal financial officer followed on 19 October. Premier Air Charter Holdings' CFO left on 19 October and an interim principal accounting officer started the next day.

The chief executive seat had its own case. The Federal Home Loan Bank of New York's chief executive resigned with effect from 20 October, and the board named an interim the same day while it searches for a permanent successor. At Expand Energy an interim ends instead. Its interim chief executive steps back to chair on 26 October when the incoming chief executive starts, and the incoming chief executive left Chord Energy's board on 19 October, the day both records were made.

18 organisations recorded an exit and an arrival under the same title. Read one by one, the clearest are finance handovers set months ahead. Rentokil Initial's CFO retires on 31 January 2027 and the successor starts the next day. Lear's CFO steps down on 28 February 2027 with the successor in from 1 March. Kinsale Capital's chief accounting officer takes the CFO seat on 2 March 2027, and Plumas Bancorp promoted from within for 1 January. Two chief executive handovers follow the same pattern. Home Bancorp's president becomes chief executive on 8 January 2027, and Opal Fuels moves from two chief executives to one on 31 March 2027.

Hot spots

Counting distinct companies rather than rows, leaving out blank-cheque vehicles, funds and trusts, and setting aside the 33 late records, California led with 28 companies. Florida had 17, New York 15, Texas 12 and Colorado 8. Six companies carried a UK location, and 21 had no address on the record. The rest were spread across other states and a few addresses outside the US and UK.

Same-company, same-day blocks were collapsed before ranking. Three companies then showed senior records on two different days, and two hold up on reading. Mattel recorded a new chief financial officer on 21 October and a new director two days later. Entravision Communications recorded a newly created board seat on 20 October and a director's resignation the next day. The third was set aside because its later record concerns a company under a different name.

Move records carry no industry field, so this entry makes no claim about which sectors were busiest.

What this count is

Counts of recorded events in a seven-day window, not a market census. The record keeps filling in behind each week, so this figure is not set beside any earlier week's.
