FAQ

Questions we get asked

The longer answers: where the data comes from, what is covered, how alerts and client delivery work, and what it costs.

Data and sources

Where does the data come from?+

Company announcements and press releases, official filings across UK and US markets, and regulated investment-adviser disclosures. Every source is public and primary. We read the original document rather than a summary of it.

Is any of it self-reported?+

No. Individuals and companies cannot submit or edit their own records. Everything traces back to a document someone published.

How do you decide what a document means?+

Every incoming document is classified into an event type, then linked to the profile and organisation references it concerns. The classification and the link are what make the record searchable. An unclassified document on its own is not much use to anyone.

Coverage and freshness

What kinds of event do you track?+

Leadership changes, funding rounds, mergers, acquisitions, public offerings and regulated AUM updates at organisation level. At individual level we track role changes, and participation in a funding round, an M&A deal or a public offering.

Which markets do you cover?+

UK and US markets, across both public and private organisations. Coverage is deepest where reporting obligations are strongest, which in practice means listed companies and regulated financial-services firms.

How current is it?+

Signals surface close to real time, usually within hours of the source document being published and often sooner. Profiles refresh daily.

How far back does the history go?+

Profiles carry career history well beyond the platform's own lifetime, since a single document often establishes years of prior roles. The event record itself starts from when we began recording and grows every week.

Using the platform

How do the alerts work?+

You build a monitored list of organisations or individuals, then choose which changes should trigger an alert. Organisation lists trigger on leadership change, funding, AUM update, merger, acquisition and public offering; profile lists trigger on a role change or on someone appearing as a participant in a deal. Alerts reach your inbox, and everyone on the team sets their own delivery preferences against a shared list.

Can I import a target list I already have?+

Yes. The CSV import wizard takes an existing account or coverage list, so a few hundred names is one sitting rather than an afternoon.

Can my clients see reports without a Chikara Intelligence login?+

Yes. Reports are shared through a portal carrying your own logo, colours and subdomain. Access is granted per client per report, with read, download and comment as separate permissions on time-limited tokens. Your client never creates an account with us.

Can I connect it to Claude or ChatGPT?+

Yes. Chikara Intelligence runs a Model Context Protocol server exposing five tools for searching and reading both people and organisations. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client, authenticate with your token, and the assistant reaches exactly what your plan covers.

Can I get the data into my own systems?+

A versioned REST API exposes events, profiles and organisation records for your CRM, BI stack or internal platform. Daily email alerts and CSV export are also available.

Compliance

Is it GDPR-compliant?+

Yes. We process business-context professional data from public sources under legitimate interest. Subject access and erasure requests are handled on request. Write to musa@chikaraintel.com.

Can someone ask to be removed?+

Yes, and we act on it. Note that removal applies to our record; it has no effect on the original published document, which remains where it was published.

Commercial

What does it cost?+

From £200 a month for a single seat, £750 a month for a team of up to five, and custom pricing for larger organisations and API access. Full detail is on the pricing page.

Is there a trial?+

Book a call and we will set you up with a trial so you can judge it on data for your own sector rather than ours.

Do I need a contract?+

No lock-in. Monthly, cancel when it stops being useful.

How is this different from PitchBook, BoardEx or ZoomInfo?+

Those are deal and contact databases with people data attached. Chikara Intelligence is built around people events: who moved, when, and what it means for you, at roughly a tenth of the entry cost.

Still deciding?

Book a call and we will walk through the platform on data for your own sector.

We're early. That means you get the founder on the phone, direct input into the roadmap, and pricing that reflects it.
